Spicy Grits with Chicken Crockpot Recipe
Ingredients needed:
* 4 cups of chicken broth
* 1 cup of grits
* 1 jalapeno pepper, cored, seeded and finely chopped
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 teaspoon of paprika
* 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
* 3/4 cup of shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
* 1 1/2 cups of chopped cooked chicken breast
* 1/2 cup of half-and-half
* 2 tablespoons chopped chives, plus additional for garnish
Preparation steps:
* Combine broth, grits, jalapeno, salt, paprika and pepper into crockpot. Stir well. Cover and cook low for 4 hours.
* Add cheese and stir until melted. Stir in chicken, half-and-half and 2 tablespoons chives. Add salt and pepper.
* Cover and cook on low for 15 minutes to blend flavors. Garnish with chives, if desired.
Serve immediately and enjoy
