Seafood Gumbo crockpot recipe

* 1 lb okra, sliced
* 2 tablespoons of melted butter
* 1/4 cup butter, melted
* 1/4 cup of flour
* 1 bunch of green onions, sliced
* 1/2 cup chopped celery
* 2 garlic cloves, minced
* 16-oz can of tomatoes and juice
* 1 bay leaf
* 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
* 1 fresh thyme sprig
* 1 1/2 teaspoon of salt
* 1 teaspoon of red pepper
* 4 cups of water
* 1 pound of peeled and deveined fresh shrimp
* 1/2 pound fresh crabmeat

Preparation needed:

* Saute okra in 2 tablespoons of butter while okra is lightly browned. Transfer to crockpot.
* Combine remaining butter and flour into skillet. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently until roux is the same color as the chocolate. This usally takes about 20 to 25 minutes. Stir in green onions, celery and garlic. Cook until vegetables are tender. Add to crockpot. Gently stir in remaining ingredients.
* Cover. Cook on high for 4 hours
* Serve over rice
