Tequila Poached Pears Crockpot Recipe
Ingredients needed:
* 4 Anjou pears, peeled
* 1 cup of tequila
* 3/4 cup of sugar
* Juice and zest of 1 lime, plus extra for garnish
* 1 can of pear nectar (11 1/2 ounces)
* 2 cups of water
* Vanilla ice cream, optional
Preparation steps:
* Place pears into crockpot.
* Add remaining ingredients to medium saucepan. Stir over medium heat until mixture boils. Boil for 1 minute and pour over pears.
* Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours or on high for 2 1/2 hours or until pears are tender.
* Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, if desired, or chill and serve on chilled plate drizzled with poaching liquid and sprinkled with lime zest.
